YSR says there should be no power cuts

Hyderabad, Mar 6: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today (Mar 6, 2006) directed power utilities to ensure uninterrupted power supply during night in view of the ensuing Intermediate and X standard public examinations.

Reviewing the power supply position in the state, the Chief Minister asked the concerned technical personnel to take necessary precautions at every transformer/sub-station level to avoid power cuts or low volatage problems which could affect the students.

Dr Reddy also directed them to ensure seven-hour power supply to the farmers as promised by the Government.

He said burnt out transformers should be replaced in 48 hours and concerted steps should be taken by Government officials and local bodies to ensure uninterrupted supply of power.

The Chief Minister called for close coordination and mutual cooperation between all the Government Departments in ensuring quality power supply, an official press release said.
