VSNL chooses Vallent's performance management solution

Mumbai, Mar 6 (UNI) Videsh Sanchar Nigam Limited (VSNL) will be employing Vallent's performance management solution to manage its network.

''We needed a scalable performance management solution that could collect data from many different network elements in different formats,'' said VSNL's Chief Network Officer M R Madhusudhan adding that Vallent's extensive experience in implementing a wide range of interfaces in multi-vendor and multi-technology networks helped clinch the deal in the latter's favour.

''Our performance management solution will allow VSNL to respond rapidly to changes in the network environment, offer new services quickly and affordably, and retain its leading position in the telecommunications industry,'' said Asia-Pacific region Vallent's Vice-President and General Manager David Burks.

VSNL is India's premier provider of international voice and data services as also the country's first Internet service provider.

It is deploying Vallent's performance management solution to monitor and manage its complex network which incorporates multiple technologies including IP, voice switching, ATM, frame relay and transmission among others, stated the release, adding that the network is comprised of 58 different network element interface types.

Vallent's expertise in wireless access technologies enables it to address the challenges of highly diverse converging networks and its performance management solutions offer service providers end-to-end service management that spans multiple technologies irrespective of access, transmission or core networks, stated the release.
