Shimla, Mar 6 (UNI) BJP'S Vice President Sahib Singh Verma today predicted mid term polls in the country soon, saying the UPA government will collapse due to its internal contradictions.

Talking to media persons here, he said the Left parties and the Samajwadi party were critical of the UPA government for its new economic policies and a pro US foreign policy.

The government's longevity was based on the outside support of these two parties and they could withdraw support anytime after the Centre refused to toe its line, he said.

Mr Verma said the Congress was playing a 'big brother role' and was pushing forward its agenda inspite of opposition from the Left parties.

''Sooner or later the Left Parties would pull down the government if it felt its ideology was being diluted,'' he said.

The BJP leader attributed the improvement in relations between India and US to the policies initiated by former prime minisrer Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Referring to Himachal Pradesh Municipal Polls in 2007, he said there was complete unity in the party for the 2007 polls and the subsequent assembly elections.

When asked who could be the party's protected leader in the assembly elections, Mr Singh said that the two top leaders Shanta Kumar and Prem Kumar Dhumal would mutually decide the name and there would be complete unanimity on the issue.
