Vasco defeats Tollygunge Agragami 2-1

Bangalore, Mar 6 (UNI) Vasco Sports Club, Goa, registered its second win defeating Tollygunge Agragami 2-1 in the Second Division ONGC Cup 10th National Football League here today.

All the goals were scored in the first half.

Vasco striker Edmilson Santos opened the account by netting a pass by Shibu Shanmugam in the 32nd minute. Agragami's Nigerian striker Bolwe M Putu brought the equaliser in the 35th minute by netting a pass by Saval Das.

A determined Goan outfit increased the tally in the very next minute when Anthony Pereira found a gap to push inside the post, encashing on a pass given by Soval Dass.

Vasco dominated in the second half, but could not increase the lead as the Kolkatans concentrated more on defence.

In the earlier encounters, Vasco had defeated Assam Rifles and lost to Army XI, while Tollygunge had drawn in its first encounter against Assam Rifles.
