Two year old boy dies, 40 hospitalised after eating 'prasad'

Srikalahasti, Andhra Pradesh, Mar 6 (UNI) A two year-old boy died while 40 people were hospitalised, six of them in a serious condition, after they consumed 'prasadam' in a Ganesh temple at Bandarupalli village, about 10 km from here.

Police today said a devotee Muni Kistaiah Setty, who used to regulary offer 'prasad' at the temple distributed it to other devotees also yesterday.

The devotees, including the child, were admitted to the Government hospital with complaints of vomiting and diarrhoea. The boy died in the hospital today.
