Traffic on 100 ft road disrupted

Pondicherry, Mar 6 (UNI) Traffic on the 100-feet road here was today affected for nearly four hours as a lorry was trapped in a level crossing.

The work of the electrification of the Pondicherry-Villippuram line was on in full swing and the authorities had erected an iron bar at every level crossing to avoid lorries coming into contact with the live overhead wire.

This morning a lorry got trapped under the bar on the road resulting in disruption of traffic for over four hours.

Later, authorities removed the bar to free the vehicle.
