Three nabbed in forgery case

Mumbai, Mar 6 (UNI) The city police have arrested three persons, including two women, in a forgery and cheating case at Kandivali in Mumbai North yesterday.

Police said Nagma Sheikh alias Nilopher (26), Ridha Merchant (26) and Mahesh Dudani (46) were nabbed near the Raghulala Shopping Mall at Kandivali. They had prepared forged documents in the name of Mamta College and started collecting donations from the citizens.

Police said the complainant had donated Rs five lakh to them for the social cause. When he visited the mentioned address on the receipt, he found there was nothing in existence. So he had lodged a complaint with the Kandivali police station.

A case of forgery and cheating has been registered against them and further investigations are in progress, police added.
