Sugar prices down on poor demand

Navi Mumbai, Mar 6 (UNI) The wholesale sugar prices fell in the absence of fresh demand from mills, traders said today.

The rates of ex-mill, small and medium grades also declined by Rs 25 and Rs 60 per quintal respectively, as traders were keen to sell their stocks.

The rates of small and medium grades came down by Rs 13 and Rs 15 per quintal respectively on sluggish demand by bulk stockists.

Following were the sugar spot rates per quintal: Small grade Rs 1,840/1,905, medium grade Rs 1,830/1,930.

Ex-mill small grade Rs 1,815/1,840, medium grade Rs 1,850/1,880.
