Singapore navy fleet commander arrives to take part in Simbex

Visakhapatnam, Mar 6 (UNI) Commander of the Singapore navy fleet Colonel Tan Kai Hoe arrived here today to participate in the debrief session of Simbex-2006, a joint naval exercise between the Singapore and Indian navies.

During his stay he would be calling on Eastern NavalF leet's Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief vice admiral sureesh mehta and Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Fleet, rear admiral sanjeev Bhasen.

Col Hoc would also attend the debrief of the joint India and navy exercise and visit Kursura submarine and maritime museum tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the Indian and Singaporean naval ships returned to the base this afternoon after completing the three-day long sea exercises.

The Singapore ships RSS Victory, Vengeance and Dauntless returned to the naval base at 1300 hrs. During the exercise, the ships of both the navies took part in anti-submarine exercises, anti-aircraft firing, anti-surface firing, damage control exercises, encounter exercises, manoeuvers and maritime security exercise.

INS Ranvijay, Kulish and Karmuk from ENC, took part in the exercises from the Indian navy.

The debrief exercise would be held tomorrow, a release from the ENC said here.
