Rupee opens at 44.34/35 per US dollar

Mumbai, Mar 6 (UNI) Rupee today opened weaker by two paise at 44.34/35, as against the last close of 44.32/33, a dealer at the forex market here said.

The rupee traded at 44.36/37 at 1052 hrs, the dealer added.

The inflow of Rs 645 crore in the stock markets on Thursday, as reported by SEBI, is likely to cushion rupee against the dollar.

The stock markets this morning were up by 94 points, trading at 10,690 points, which will also support rupee.

The crude oil prices traded unchanged, above USD 63 per barrel in the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) which will keep rupee subdued.
