Opposition parties 'No challenge' for CPI (M)-Anil

Barrackpore, Mar 6 (UNI) CPI (M) West Bengal secretary and Polit bureau member Anil Biswas today said Congress and other Opposition political parties posed 'no challenge' to them in the coming state Assembly elections.

Addresing a party election rally at Panihati in North 24 Parganas, Mr Biswas said two crore party members and cadres would return the Left Front to power.

Mr Biswas strongly criticised the Congress, whom the CPI (M) extended conditional support to form the UPA government at the Centre and said ''the Congress had been trying to exploit us''.

He said'' Congress leader Pranab Mukherjee is likely to be the last PCC President in West Bengal as his party will have no existence after 2006 elections''.

The CPI (M) secretary also said his party was not bothered about the restrictions imposed by the Election Commission on the means of election campaign under the Defacement law.

'' Our two crore cadres will go on campaigning with the party election symbol on their back for the next 45 days,'' Mr Biswas said, adding the party will deploy tableaus in thousands throughout the state instead of wall writing.

Mr Biswas told his partymen to be cautious from new divisive forces, including the Maoists, besides the Opposition parties.
