Aizawl, Mar 6 (UNI) Mizoram Governor A R Kohli has made it clear to the district officials that there should be no discrimination against opposition parties' constituencies in government development programmes.

Conducting a three-day tour of south-western belt of Mizoram within the Buarpui constituency, whose MLA is Zodintluanga from the Congress party, governor Kohli met officials in Lunglei, where he told them to look into the problems of the people which had come to his notice during the course of his tour.

''I find that the south western belt of the state, especially Bru and Chakma areas, is a very neglected area. The villages are in very bad condition. We cannot ignore them just because it is a constituency of an opposition party,'' he said adding that ''moreover the roads are also in a very bad condition and these must take priority if we want the people to prosper.'' The governor said he was very concerned over the lack of teachers in government schools and about the health of the population. He instructed education officials of the district to expediate necessary remedial measures while instructing the health officials to conduct health clinics in April and ensure that Malaria is given a priority as the area is prone to the disease.

Visiting about 13 villages within Buarpui constituency in Lunglei district, the governor was given warm welcome in all these areas.
