One arrested with arms

Kohima, Mar 6 (UNI) Dimapur police arrested a person in connection with possessing a country made stengun from Duncan Basti area of Dimapur town.

Official sources said that one Suraj Ali (30) had got out to get his gun painted. The matter was informed to the police, who arrested him immediately.

On search of his residence at Lotha colony, Dimapur, police further recovered one magazine, three 9mm and seven .22 empty cases of bullets.

The accused hails from the Tinsukia town of Assam and was presently residing in the lotha colony.

A case has been registered at Dimapur West police station under the Arms Act and investigation was on, sources said.
