Notorious criminal hacked to death in TN capital

Chennai, Mar 6 (UNI) A notorious criminal was hacked to death in broad daylight by a gang at Teynampet area in the city today.

Police sources said Sekar (32) had just returned from Saidapet court after appearing before it in connection with a case, when the incident occurred.

He was walking near the SIET college, when the gang comprising five to six members, waylaid him and attacked him with lethal weapons.

Sekar, who suffered several cut injuries all over his body, was killed on the spot.

Previous enmity was stated to be the reason behind the murder.

The body was taken to a government hospital for post-mortem.
