Naxals target bus; kill two

Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh, Mar 6: Two passengers were killed and eight injured after naxals triggered a blast targeting a privately-owned bus along Dantewada district's Bijapur-Basaguda road around noon today.

The vehicle came under attack at a village between Amapalli and Basaguda in South Bastar where rebels have stepped up violence over the past fortnight.

Police confirmed the casualties and did not rule out the possibility of an increase in their number.

Last night, naxals attacked Basaguda village, opened indiscriminate fire killing four persons and seriously injuring ten.

Extremists slew 27 persons and injured 40 in a landmine blast at Darbhaguda on February 28.
