Iranian naval ships call at Kochi port

Kochi, Mar 06: Two ships 'IRIS Bandar Abbas and IRIS Lavan' of the Iranian Navy arrived here on a five-day training visit.

Chief Staff Officer (Operations) Commodore G V Babu received the ships at the BTP berth of the Kochi port yesterday.

Captain II Khordad Hakimi, senior officer along with the Commanding Officer of the ships and other senior officers of the Iran Navy called on the Southern Naval Command's, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief Vice Adminiral S C S Bangara and Chief of Staff Rear Admiral Rajender Singh.

During the stay, the crew would visit various professional training schools of the Southern Naval Command. Practical training will also be imparted to the trainees in watermanship and on the Ship Handling simulator. The Officers of the two navies will have social interaction during receptions held at the Command Mess and onboard the Iranian ship.

Both ships are scheduled to depart Kochi on Wednesday for Bandar Abbas port.
