Nashik, Mar 6 (UNI) BJP senior leader Pramod Mahajan today, rejecting the Left's threats to the UPA government as empty, said there is no danger to the stability of the Manmohan Singh government.

''Left barks but does not bite and hence there is no threat to the Central government,'' the BJP national secretary said at the party rally held after the conclusion of the two-day meeting of its Maharashtra executive here.

He lambasted the Left for having opposed the 1998 Pokharan nuclear tests by the Vajpayee government but supporting Iran's nuclear programme now.

Mr Mahajan also ruled out the possibility of Third Front emerging at the Centre.

He said the country was self-sufficient in foodgrains during the Vajpayee regime but now Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar has created a situation where it has to import wheat.

Mr Pawar, instead of solving farmers problems in his home state, was busy promoting wine and beer, he alleged.

He charged the Congress-led UPA goverment with having abandoned the plan to link rivers in the country.

BJP state leader Gopinath Munde said the party would launch an agitation on March 9 to draw government's attention to the plight of farmers in Maharashtra.

State party president Nitin Gadkari also addressed the rally.
