JMM demands resignation of Narendra Modi
Jamshedpur, Mar 6 (UNI) Secretary central committee of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha Nasar Firdausi today demanded the dismissal of the Narendra Modi government in Gujrat on the wake of Justice U C Banerjee report on Godhra train fire.
The report said that in February 2002 Sabarmati Express had caught fire by accident and it was not set on fire as reported earlier. The incident trigerred widespread killings, loot and arson in the state.
A JMM delegation, led by Mr Firdausi, demonstrated before the office of the East Singhbhum deputy commissioner and later submitted a memorandum to President A P J Abdul Kalam urging him to see that the Modi governement was not allowed to continue.
He said with the submission of the report it revealed that the Gujarat government was squarely responsible for the communal riots which broke out after the Godhra train fire.
Mr Firdausi also demanded adequate compensation, proper rehabilitation and government service to one person of the minority families, who were killed during the riot.
