Jaya constitutes committee for seat sharing talks with allies

Chennai, Mar 6:AIADMK Supremo and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa today constituted a six-member committee to hold seat sharing discussions with alliance parties for the May 8 assembly polls in Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and Kerala.

In a statement here, she said the committee would be headed by State Revenue Minister and Party Election wing Secretary O Panneerselvam.

AIADMK headquarters Secretary and Law Minister D Jayakumar, Health Minister and Organising Secretary N Thalavai Sundaram, Propaganda Secretary O S manian, Organising Seceretary and former Minister K A Sengottaiyan and party election wing Joint Secretary R Viswanathan were the other members of the committee.

It may be noted that the AIADMK had already clinched the poll pact with MDMK led by Vaiko and Dalit Panthers of India(DPI) headed by Thol Thirumalavan and allotted 35 and nine seats, respectively.

The ruling AIADMK had also signed electoral agreements with Puducherry Munnetra Congress (PMC)led by P Kannan and allotted ten seats to that party in Pondicherry.

It had also finalised poll tie-up with the Indian National League (INL)and Indian Union Muslim League(IUML)allotting two seats to the former and one for the latter.
