Independents to field their candidate in Rajya Sabha election

Patna, Mar 06 (UNI) Independent MLAs of Bihar have decided to support Mr Jai Narain Trivedi, who would contest the biennial election for Rajya Sabha as an Independent candidate.

Stating this, Mr Lal Babu Rai, Independent MLA, told newsmen here today that all the ten Independent MLAs besides Legislators of the CPI(ML), the Samajwadi Party and the Bahujan Samajawadi Party would support Mr Trivedi in the coming Rajya Sabha election.

President of the Akhil Jan Vikas Dal and MLA Dadan Singh alias Dadan Pahalwan, also present in the press conference, said victory of Mr Tiwary was almost certain as more than 45 MLAs had expressed their willingness to support him.

Mr Tiwari had worked a lot for the uplift of the downtrodden, he added.
