High capacity buses for Delhi tender completion in 8 weeks

New Delhi, Mar 6 (UNI) The Supreme Court was informed today that the tender process for acquiring high capacity buses for Delhi shall be completed within 8 weeks.

A bench comprising chief justice Y.K. Sabharwal, Mr Justice C.K.

Thakker and Mr. Justice R.V. Raveendran also accepted the recommendations of the Environment Prevention and Control Authority (EPCA) for Delhi which were filed in March, 2006.

The EPCA is headed by Mr. Bhure Lal.

Several agencies have raised minor objections. The finance committee of the Delhi government protested at the type of technology suggested by the state government and Delhi Traffic Police complained about the routes of the high capacity buses.

The court was also informed that the final draft of the Parking policy for the national capital was under the consideration of the Delhi government.
