Ganguly, Pataudi to witness Mohali Test

Mohali, Mar 6 (UNI) He may not be part of the playing XI but former Team India captain Sourav Ganguly will be present in the second Test against England on invitation from the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA).

Addressing a press conference here today, PCA President IS Bindra informed that invitations have been extended to all former Indian cricket captains for the second Test and Ganguly, Kapil Dev and Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi have confirmed to be present on the occasion.

''Ganguly has informed the PCA about his arrival in Mohali after the Deodhar Trophy match in Jaipur,'' said Bindra.

Adding a touch of glamour to the occasion will be Sharmila Tagore who would accompany her husband 'Tiger' Pataudi.

Meanwhile, the PCA will felicitate Board of Control for Cricket in India President Sharad Pawar and Punjab Governor Gen SF Rodrigues for their oustanding contribution for the development of sports.

Mr Bindra said that Mr Pawar and Gen Rodrigues would be given honorary membership of the PCA as well as the PCA Club on March 8.

On the same day, Mr Pawar will also inaugurate the Indoor Playing facilities at ground B of the PCA Stadium.
