DMK worker drowns

Chennai, Mar 6 (UNI) A middle-aged DMK worker died when he accidentally fell into a well near Thuraimangalam in Perambalur district of Tamil Nadu last night.

Reports received here said the worker, Sekar, was returning along with ten others in a van from Tiruchirapalli after attending the party's ninth State conference, when the incident occurred.

The van was parked on the roadside around midnight on the Chennai- Trichy National Highway to enable the occupants to attend the nature's call.

As the area was pitch dark, Sekar walked a few yards and did not notice an open well there. He suddenly fell into it and got drowned.

The DMK workers, who were travelling with him brought the body in the van and informed the Thuraimangalam police.
