CPM condemns clash at Bilaspur

Shimla, Mar 6: The Himachal Pradesh unit of the CPM today (Mar 6, 2006) condemned yesterday's clash between the members of rival truck unions at Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh in which one person was killed and several others injured.

The party, in a release here, asked the state government to take effective steps to ensure the guilty were not let off, while demanding a policy on the issue to ensure these incidents were not repeated in future.

It also asked the state government to take up the matter with the Punjab government and prevent the issue from being politicised on narrow sectarian lines.

The government should also ensure that the industries being set up cater to requirements and needs of the people of the state, it added.
