CPI holds talks with DMK on seats, fails to reach pact
Chennai, Mar 6 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu unit of the Communist Party of India (CPI) today held seat sharing talks with DMK President M Karunanidhi, but failed to reach an agreement.
After a 45-minute long discussion, CPI State President D Pandian told newspersons that an agreement was yet to be reached and talks would continue.
The CPI leader was accompanied during the discussions by Former State Secretary R Nallakannu and senior leader C Magendiran.
Mr Karunanidhi was assisted in the talks by senior leaders Arcot N Veerasamy, M K Stalin and Duraimurugan, party sources said.
