Jammu, Mar 06: Describing the state budget as 'illusory and jugglery of figures', the former Union Minister and Senior Bhartiya Janata Party leader Chaman Lal Gupta said it is like a balance sheet of persons enjoying lusxuries at the cost of the poors.

Commenting on the budget, presented by congress led coalition government, Prof Gupta said the total revenue receipts form about 80 per cent as central assistance and despite massive funding the dependence has been ever increasing. It also indicates the hard earned money of the central exechquer is not being properly utilised.

Quoting the budget figures, he pointed out that the revenue receipts from the internal resources have been estimated at Rs 2720 crore, the spendings on the staff alone are over Rs3500 crores, which shows the state government is not in a position to even pay the emoluments of its employees. But still its leaders are raising the slogans of greater autonomy and self-rule without realising they cannot survive for even a month without the central assistance, he added.
