New Delhi, Mar 6 (UNI) Airtel, India's leading private telecom operator, has announced a reduction in ISD and STD rates for both its post and pre-paid mobile customers, taking a cue from the new Interconnect User Charge (IUC) order announced by TRAI recently.

Besides, it has also reduced ISD rates for Airtel Fixed line customers on the 'All for One' plan.

Bharti Airtel President Manoj Kohli said, ''We are happy that the new Access Deficit Charge (ADC) regime supports our effort to make long-distance calling affordable to the masses in India. We are pleased to pass on the benefits of the new ADC to the consumer.'' For mobile customers, all ISD rates will be reduced to Rs 7.20/minute (US, Canada, Europe) and Rs 9.99/minute (Africa and Gulf Countries).

Further, all STD rates currently above Rs 2.40/min will be reduced by 25 paise for Airtel mobile users. So, if a customer is currently paying a STD rate of Rs 2.65/minute then it would now reduce to Rs 2.40/minute.

Similarly, if a customer is paying Rs 2.90/min, it would reduce to Rs 2.65/minute. However, if the current tariff is Rs 2.40 or lower, there would be no change in the currently discounted STD tariff.

Airtel has also reduced its ISD rates for Airtel Fixed line users under the 'All for One' Plan, which was launched last week at a monthly rental of just Rs 299 per month and offered- STD or local - at a flat rate of Re 1 per minute.
