Uma demands relief for ryots
Bhopal, Mar 5 (UNI) Expelled BJP leader Uma Bharti has demanded that the Madhya Pradesh government provide immediate relief to farmers in view of extensive crop damage due to recent unseasonal hail in several places.
''This is basically an agriculture-based state and a large chunk of the population relies on farming income. This time round, peasants suffered loss first due to outages and then lack of 'mawthey' (winter precipitation). In such a situation, the government should forthwith conduct an emergency survey,'' she said in a statement issued here today.
