Two security personnel, a militant killed in Rajouri

Jammu, Mar 5 (UNI) A Major of 38 Rashtriya Rifles, were among two security personnel, killed on the spot and a jawan was injured when militants ambushed their vehicle near Kotli forest area of Rajouri district in Jammu this morning.

According to an official spokesperson, immediately after the attack the police and army personnel jointly launched combing operation in the area in which a militant was gunned down and a jawan was injured. The encounter was still on when the reports last came in.

Sources said the militants attacked when the team of security personnel was returning after the operation at Sangiot in Poonch, in which three Lashkar-e-Toiba militants were killed yesterday.

The deceased were identified as Major Shyam Sunder and Sepoy Rama Rao while the slain militant was yet to be identified.
