Tuskers trample woman to death

Patthalgaon, Chhattisgarh, Mar 5 (UNI) A tribal woman was trampled to death by a herd of wild elephants in forest at Sithra village in Jashpur district.

Dharamjaigadh Divisional Forest Officer P K Kishore yesterday said Kanchan Kumari had gone to collect 'tendu' leaves when she was trampled by the hord.

The region is plagued by elephant menace, as the pachyderms sometimes come out of forests to devour 'Mahua' crops.
