Tornado kills four

Dhaka, Mar 5 (UNI) Four people were killed and over 50 others injured after a tornado swept six villages in southwestern Bagerhat district of Banglasdesh last night , official sources in the district said today.

The tornado, which lasted for little more than a minute, hit the villages of Mejurbaria, Rekia Rajapur, Dhansagar, Bandhaghata, Dakkhin Badhal and Savarer Par at about 2100 hrs. It caused huge damage to houses and trees.

More than 500 houses, schools and religious institutions were damaged and hundreds of trees uprooted by the tornado, they added.
