Small newspapers asked to focus on investigative journalism

Gulbarga, Mar 5 (UNI) Karnataka Agriculture Marketing Minister Sharnabasappa Gowda Darshanapur today underlined the need for carrying more investigative reports in district newspapers.

Inaugurating the District Small Newspapers' Editors Association meeting here, he said circulation of newspapers would increase only if wide coverage was given to issues concerning readers and their emotions.

North Karnataka Small Daily Newspapers Association President P M Mannur urged the Government to give Government advertisements to Gulbarga district small newspapers too. He appealed to the Minister to allot a site for setting up a Press Club in the city. More than 50 Editors and reporters participated.
