Sam Pitroda to receive Nayudamma award

Vijayawada, Mar 5 (UNI) The Y Nayudamma Memorial Trust would confer the Nayudamma award 2005 to National Knowledge Commission and World Tel Chairman Sam Pitroda at Tenali, on March 11.

Nayudamma Trust founder P Vishnu Murthy said in a release that Dr Pitroda had been chosen in recognition of his outstanding contribution to India's Telecom revolution.

The award was instituted in 1986 to commemorate the memory of the late distinguished scientist and internationally renowned leather technologist Dr Nayudamma and was given to the persons chosen for their significant contributions to the development of science and technology in the country every year.

The recipient would deliver the 14th Nayudamma Memorial lecture on the theme ''tradition and technology''.
