Punjab FM assures development-oriented budget
Jalandhar, Mar 5 (UNI) Punjab Finance Minister Surinder Singla today assured that the state budget for the year 2006-07 would be welfare and development-oriented.
Talking to reporters here, Mr Singla said the budget, to be presented in the state assembly on March seven, would take proper care of development, agriculture and all sections of society, particularly the poor.
He said special attention would be paid to further strengthen the economy of the state.
He expressed satisfaction over improvement in the economic health of the state during the last four years and said the present government had addressed the economy well which was in a very bad shape during the previous government's regime.
Mr Singla was in town to participate in a function at the APJ College here.
