NC issues whip for mayor's post in Srinagar Municipal Council

Srinagar, Mar 5 (UNI) The National Conference (NC) today issued a whip to its municipal councillors to cast their votes in favour of party candidates for the post of mayor and deputy mayor in the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC).

In a statement here, NC General Secretary Sheikh Nazir Ahmed asked the party councillors to abide by the high command's directions and cast their votes in favour of Abdul Rashid Pandit for the post of mayor and Salman Ali Sagar for the deputy mayor's post.

While Mr Pandit represents Ali Kadal in the SMC, Mr Sagar is the NC Councillor from Barbarshah.

At present, Mr Ghulam Mustafa Bhat is the mayor of the SMC.
