Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh, Mar 5 (UNI) CPI(Maoist) triggered two blasts early today at Bansi railway station, about 85 km from here, in Dantewada district, police sources said.

The ultras, blasted an engine first and later triggered another blast at the railway station at around 0230 hrs, the sources added. Senior police and railway officials have rushed to the spot.

''More details about the incident are awaited,'' the sources said.

Bansi railway station is located at a remote village near South Bastar forests.

Naxalites have stepped up violence in South Bastar for the last few months, particularly after local tribals launched a campaign against them about seven months ago.

The campaign, 'Salwa Judum', (peace movement), spread in the district after local tribals motivated misguided youth to shun violence and return to the mainstream.
