Minister flags off 7 more Volvo buses

Vijayawada, Mar 5 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Raj Minister J C Diwakar Reddy today flagged off seven Volvo buses to different destinations from the city.

While two services each would run to Chennai, Bangalore and Mumbai, passengers to Visakhapatnam can enjoy acclimatizer facility.

These services were in addition to the existing nine Volvo services run by the Krishna region of APSRTC.

In his address, Mr Reddy said Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy had initiated several measures to keep the corporation out of red after coming to power.The corporation aimed to provide better facilities to the public and introduce more services.

RTC Chairman Gonu Prakasa Rao said the government will not take any hasty step on privatising the corporation as long as it was in power. It intention was to help the corporation run profitably.
