Margao Sports Club wins Kolhapur mayoral trophy

Kolhapur, Mar 5 (UNI) Margao Sports Club from Goa lifted the Kolhapur Mayoral Football Tournament trophy defeating local Patakadeel Talim Mandal (PTM) 1-0 on sudden-death basis played at the Shri Shahu Stadium here today.

The clash between Margao Sports Club and PTM ended goal-less in full-time. In the tie-breaker, both teams scored four goals each.

The organisers then opted for sudden death in which Margo Sports Club emerged winners by 1-0.

Shrimant Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj (Kolhapur) gave away the trophy and cash prizes at a function later.

The Kolhapur Municipal Corporation conducted the tournament in which around 20 teams had participated.
