Karunanidhi apologises for attack on media
Chennai, Mar 5 (UNI) DMK President M Karunanidhi today tendered an apology and expressed regret over yesterday's incident in Tiruchirapalli where the media personnel came under attack from DMK workers.
Upset over MDMK quitting the DPA and aligning with the AIADMK, the DMK workers pulled down the cutouts of MDMK leader Vaiko and torched it. The cutouts of DPA leaders were put up at the DMK Conference venue in Tiruchirapalli.
When the media attempted to take photos during the incident, they were attacked by the DMK workers. Two journalists were admitted to hospital.
In a statement here, Mr Karunanidhi said he expressed regret over the incident and apologised for it.
He also expressed regret over his party workers' act of pulling down and burning the cutout of Mr Vaiko.
