Gas Tragedy, lesson against negligence: CM

Bhopal, Mar 5 (UNI) Describing the 1984 Bhopal Gas Tragedy as a lesson against negligence of safety, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has stressed on awareness towards safety, health and the environment.

''A healthy mind, alertness and awareness towards safety enhances productivity that strengthens a nation's economy,'' he said while addressing the 35th National Safety Day at Mantralaya, as per an official release issued yesterday.

Among those present were Environment and Housing Minister Jayant Malaiya, Labour Minister Jagdish Dewda, Chief Secretary Rakesh Sahani and BHEL ED P T Dev.

Mr Chouhan administered an oath pertaining to safety, health and environment, the release added.
