Four drown in AP

Tirupati, Mar 5 (UNI) Three teenage girls and a woman drowned in a water tank at Durga Samudra Village under Tirupati Rural Mandal, about ten km from here today.

Police said the accident occurred when the victims went to the tank to wash clothes.

After finishing the work, they opened their tiffen carrier for lunch when one of the cups fell into the water.

While one of the girls who tried to retrieve the cup slipped and fell into the tank, the others drowned when they went to her rescue.

The deceased were identified as M Nagalakshmi (30), M Bharati (15), M Lakshmi (14) (both sisters) and N Ravathi (15).
