Dy Commandant among 4 CRPF personnel wounded in Srinagar blast
Srinagar, Mar 5 (UNI) At least four Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel, including a deputy commandant, were wounded in a grenade attack by militants near a shrine here today.
CRPF spokesman Dilip Singh Ambeesh told UNI that militants hurled a hand grenade towards a bunker near a shrine at Khanyar in the downtown area here this evening.
The grenade hit the picket, causing injuries to four CRPF personnel, he added.
CRPF's 122 battalion Deputy Commandant B N Sharma, sub-inspector N Singh, head constable Jaswal and jawan Khandey were wounded in the attack, the responsibility for which was claimed by the banned Jaish-e-Mohammad and Al-Madina militant outfits.
The wounded have been shifted to a hospital.
