Bishen Bedi asks team support staff to refrain from media comments

Kolkata, Mar 5 (UNI) In the wake of Greg Chappell's latest tirade against Sourav Ganguly, leg-spin exponent Bishen Singh Bedi today advised caution to Team India support staff, saying that those contracted with BCCI should be careful while interacting with the media.

Refusing to comment on Chappell's views, comments on Ganguly Bedi said here, ''They are his personal opinion. I can't say anything on it.

But, those who are contracted with the Board of Control for Cricket in India should be careful in media interaction. The Board has already curbed contracted players from going to the media. Other conntarcted persons should be careful too.'' He added that the BCCI should take appropriate action and rectifying steps as Chappell is answerable to the Board.

On whether it was an insult to India as the comments were coming from a foreigner, he mocked the media stating, ''Why are you harping on the foreigner issue now? Why were you silent when he was appointed? You can't have it both ways, can you?'' MORE UNI BA JYN PDS RN1947
