Kolkata, Mar 05 (UNI) After a string of poor results, Mohun Bagan today continued with their chop and change policy and appointed Biswajit Bhattacharya as their new coach till the end of the current NFL.

General Secretary Mohun Bagan Athletic Club, Anjan Mitra, said here today, ''Biswajit Bhattacharya is appointed as the coach of Mohun Bagan in place of Jahar Das with effect from March 7 and shall continue upto completion of 10th NFL.'' Biswajit comes to Mohun Bagan with a string of success backing him. This includes shepherding Mohammedan Sporting to the premier division of NFL and then helping the same club defeat Mohun Bagan before he called it quits.

Jahar Das, the Coach of Mohun Bagan-SAIL Football Academy was appointed as the Coach for the Senior football team of Mohun Bagan on lien.

However, as the National League of U-15 will commence soon Mr Das shall be back to where he belongs, at the academy.

Mohun Bagan-SAIL football academy in-charge Tapan Roy said,'' Owing to some unavoidable circumstances that cropped up during the first week of December 2005, Mohun Bagan Athletic Club was in great trouble in finding out a suitable coach.'' ''Mohun Bagan-Sail football academy then came to the rescue and offered its coach Jahar Das to the club on lien basis. At the same time an assurance was given that Sujit Chakroborty would be appointed as coach of Mohun Bagan-SAIL Football Academy,'' he said.

''But unfortunately, the promise was not fulfilled and our academy is reeling under trouble owing to the absence of an efficient coach.

Under the circumstances, we find no way out but to withdraw our lien agreement and reinstate Mr Jahar Das as the coach of our Academy,'' he added.
