Atwal slips to tied 54, Chopra soares in ford championship
Doral, Mar 5 (UNI) Four bogeys and a double bogey in the third round and Arjun Atwal found himself slipping to tied 54 after scoring a poor two-over 74 while Indian-born Swede Daniel Chopra continued his brilliant run hitting five birdies to secure the tied second spot in the Ford Championship Golf here today.
Tiger Woods became the sole leader after fellow American Phil Mickelson slipped to tied sixth.
Atwal hit birdies in the first band second hole but double bogeyed the fifth hole and bogeyed the sixth and the eighth holes.
In the back nine, he hit birdies in the 10th and the 14th holes but bogied the 11th and eighteenth holes. He finished the round with a five-under 211.
Chopra, on the other hand, hit birdies in the first, second, 10th, 16th and 18th holes while he bogeyed the fifth hole. Chopra now has a 15-under 201 score to his credit.
