Youth Congress leaders told to monitor job scheme
New Delhi, Mar 4 (UNI) A two-day meeting of about 200 Youth Congress Presidents of as many districts in the country on implementation of the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme concluded here today.
Union Minister without Portfolio Oscar Fernandes, Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Jairam Ramesh and AICC Secretary Capt Ved Prakash were among the senior leaders who addressed the delegates exhorting them to monitor the implementation of the Central Government's scheme.
The participants were told to educate the people at the panchayat level about the UPA government's flagship programme and to ensure that maximum people bebefit from it.
The Youth Congress leaders were also asked to see to it that Governments in the Opposition-ruled States did not take the credit for the Union Government's scheme, party sources said.
