Women injured in BSF firing in Tripura, tension mounting
Agartala, Mar 4 (UNI) Tension ran high in Tripura villages near Indo-Bangla border at Dharmanagar's Rani Bari after a mother and her daughter were injured in BSF firing last night, police said today.
Sources said four Indian nationals were returning from Bangladesh after attending a programme when the BSF jawans opened fire injuring the mother and daughter.
Police said despite being injured the duo were kept in the border outpost without any treatment. However, they were later removed to hospital in a critical condition.
Senior police officials had rushed to the spot foloowing the tension. Security measures had been tightened in the bordering village to prevent any untoward incident, including attack on the border outpost by the villagers.
