We are still part of UPA, support will continue: Vaiko
Chennai, Mar 4 (UNI) Despite striking an electoral alliance with the ruling AIADMK in Tamil Nadu, MDMK General Secretary Vaiko today said his party would still remain in the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) at the Centre and would continue to provide outside support to it.
Talking to newspersons a couple of hours after clinching the seat sharing agreement with the AIADMK, Mr Vaiko said his party continued to with the UPA at the Centre.
''We are part and parcel of the UPA. Our support to the government will continue'', he said.
''We are not part of the government. We will continue to provide issue based support to the UPA like the left parties'', he added.
Whenever there is a need to oppose, the MDMK would raise its voice, Mr Vaiko said and referred to the party's opposition to privatisation of PSUs.
To a question, Mr Vaiko said the MDMK would convey its stand to UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi at an appropriate time.
