VIB registers case against former secratery and 9 others
Patna, Mar 4 (UNI) Bihar Vigilance Investigation Bureau (VIB) today registered a case against former secratery cum commissioner C K Basu, director Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS) Dr D K Yadav and eight others in a case relating to financial irregularities committed in the purchase of a laser machine in the institute.
The accused committed irregularities under a criminal conspiracy by abusing their official positions in purchase of EXIMER-LASER machine in eye department of IGIMS in 1996.
According to the FIR, Rs 80 lakh were paid to the supplier company violating the norms. The machine was purchased from a Bangalore based company against the advice of the experts.
Others accused in the case were IGIMS former director P S Choudhary, Dr Mahesh Chandra, Dr Mrinal Anand, Dr Subhash Prasad and financial advisor S R Gayeen.
Supplier company M/S Genbel Medimart Private Limited, its director T Chidambran and local agent Neelmohan were also named in the case.
