Terrorist killed, 12 Bangladeshis arrested

Jammu, Mar 4 (UNI) An unidentified terrorist was killed and an army jawan injured in an encounter in Poonch last night while the security forces arrested twelve Bangladeshis trying to infiltrate into Pakistan.

Official sources today said an unidentified terrorist was killed and an army jawan Anil Kumar of 38 Rashtriya Rifles was injured in an encounter at Sangiot, Harni in Mendhar tehsil of Poonch district.

One AK rifle and some ammunition were recovered from the spot.

The injured army jawan was evacuated from the spot and shifted to hospital. Search operation in the area was on as there was possibility of some more militants hiding in the area.

In another incident, a civilian Ashok Kumar was injured in a mine blast at Sera, Bhawani in Nowshera. A grenade was spotted lying at Nadni nullah in Chinore by local people which was later defused by a bomb disposal squad.

Meanwhile, the security forces arrested 12 Bangladeshis while they were trying to infiltrate into Pakistan from forward village of Nadla in Samba sector.

In January security forces had foiled infiltration bids by over 50 Bangladeshis from Jammu borders.
